Adult Event Camp - June 11-13 & October 22-24, 2025

A three day “camp” for adults who want to start their eventing season off right! The days will consist of 2 lessons per day in preparation for the (optional) June 14th schooling trial or the October 25-26th events at HPF. Your lessons during these 3 camp days can be customized to fit you and your horses specific needs. Learn from our team of FUN and encouraging instructors and enjoy beautiful Vermont…all without even missing a whole week of work!

Adult Event Camp is $650 and includes stabling for the duration of the camp. Additional stabling available for $40/night. Please note the schooling trial entry fee is NOT included in camp cost. There is a group barbecue on the first evening of camp, camping on site is welcome at no extra cost (we have showers and a kitchen) and wonderful local restaurants/stores are available. Or you can search AirBNB in South Royalton for accommodations.

Contact us with any questions!

PLEASE NOTE: Due to our new event entry system the schooling trial entry fee CANNOT be included in camp cost. You must enter the event (if you are choosing to compete) separately when entries open. Not sure what level to enter? That’s fine, we can always adjust levels during camp week!

Junior Event Camp - July 14-18, 2025

Junior Event Camp at Hitching Post Farm is for kids aged 8-18, with their own horses, who are either actively eventing or ready to begin eventing. Campers have the option to camp at our farm, under the guidance of several counselors, in our very fun camping area situated in our pasture.

HPF’s Junior Event Camp is designed to fully prepare each student to compete in the July 19th schooling trial. Campers will take part in 2 lessons per day in groups of no more than 5 riders. Although the Junior Event Camp has grown, there is still flexibility to work in groups as small as 2 or individually, if the need arises. We take pride in our ability to make each camper feel confident, prepared and challenged while maintaining a fun and friendly environment. Laurie Hudson and Sally Scheindel teach cross-country and dressage respectively and are accompanied by other instructors who often include Keith Robinson, Taylor Faccio, Lauren Mair & Annabelle Sprague.

Each day campers are expected to take care of all aspects of their horses, as well as help and encourage other campers. Feeding, stall cleaning, grazing, turnout, tack cleaning, etc. will all be camper responsibilities. Throughout the week, campers will also help with various aspects of preparation for the schooling trial.

We have a handful of counselors on premise to help ensure that campers are happy and comfortable. Our barn is equipped with showers and we try to go for a swim each evening. Homemade meals are prepared in our “barn kitchen” or at Laurie’s house and we are able to accommodate anyone with food restrictions.

Junior Event Camp is $1100 which includes everything EXCEPT your horses feed/bedding & the July 19th Schooling Trial entry cost. Each student must enter the event prior to camp.
