Junior Event Camp at Hitching Post Farm is for kids aged 10-18 who are either actively eventing or ready to begin eventing. Camp runs for 5 days, culminating in an HPF Schooling Trial taking place on day 6.

HPF’s Junior Event Camp is designed to fully prepare each student to compete in the schooling trial, whether they are competing at a new level or for the first time. Campers will take part in 2 lessons per in groups of no more than 5. Although the Junior Event Camp has grown, there is still flexibility to work in groups as small as 2 or individually, if the need arises. We take pride in our ability to make each camper feel confident, prepared and challenged while maintaining a fun and friendly environment.  Laurie Hudson and Sally Scheindel teach cross-country and dressage respectively and are accompanied by other instructors including Kylie Lyman, Janine McClain and Keith Robinson.

Each day campers are expected to take care of all aspects of their horses as well as help and encourage other campers. Feeding, stall cleaning, grazing, turnout, tack and equipment will be camper responsibilities. Throughout the week, campers will also help with various aspects of preparation for the schooling trial.

We offer a rustic and fun camp, with campers “camping” at the barn and enjoying the company of their horses 24/7.  We have a handful of counselors on premise to help ensure that campers are happy and comfortable.  Homemade meals are prepared in our “barn kitchen” and we are able to provide meals to accommodate anyone with food restrictions.

While cell service and wifi are available, we ask that you to please talk with your child about waiting until our day is done to make calls

.Please fill out the Liability Waiver and Entry Form (division not necessary if there are questions about level). Entry Fee is included in the cost of camp.
