Our Instructors

Laurie Hudson

Laurie grew up at HPF and spent many hours on a horse as a child and teenager. In addition to attending UVM, she worked for Rebecca Coffin-Vickery in NY gaining valuable education as a rider and in the barn as a groom and barn manager. Several years were spent working for a Grand Prix rider in his successful hunter, equitation and jumper stable, attending major shows in the US and Europe. Laurie is the 3rd generation to operate Hitching Post Farm.

Sally Scheindel

Sally had her early riding lessons at HPF before acquiring ponies and horses at her parent’s farm.  After exploring local shows, trying hunters and eventing, Sally decided dressage was her sport. Sally graduated from Morrisville College with a BS in Equine Management. She trained, competed and taught out of Breckenridge Farm in VT for many years before coming to HPF in 2002.  She teaches all levels of riders and has enjoyed improving the dressage skills of many who thought dressage “wasn’t for them”.  Sally also joins HPF for a cross-country school or clinic every now and then.

Janine Preece McClain

Janine was a horse crazy kid who trail rode and did some showing. After graduating from UNH, she began eventing with her first event at HPF in 1977! Janine has competed extensively through Intermediate and has gone on to become a course designer up and down the east coast.  She has taught and trained out of her Winter Tale Farm in Bethel, VT for many years. She is a regular instructor at all of our camps and is available for lessons as well.
